We are seeking expressions of interest to join our Doutta Galla Harmony Village team in the role of a Grounds Maintenance Assistant on a casual basis.About Doutta Galla Harmony Village:Doutta Galla is a not for profit aged care organisation with almost thirty years’ experience caring for people from a diverse range of backgrounds.  Everyone is welcome - all cultures, nationalities, faiths and language groups.The grounds at Harmony Village include a primarily native garden, which is a mixture of trees, shrubs, ground covers and grasses. Garden beds are eithermulched or pebbled and there are significant areas of lawn. Lawns and gardens are irrigated. The grounds house around eighty units, and an aged care facility. The units and nursing home are served by a substantial road and car park network. Outdoor furniture, lighting, signage and water features contribute to a landscape designed to provide amenity to residents. The aged care facility has a number of internal courtyards which contain plantings. There is a glass house which is used for propagating plants for the garden, and also by residents for recreation. There are also a number of raised beds for use by residents for gardening, which the landscape team assist with.The role will be varied, from assisting to maintain gardens and lawns, irrigating and hand watering, digging, pruning and clearing vegetation, and carrying out basic repairs to hard landscape features are all part of the job. Safety is a big part of the landscape teams work, and regular sweeping and removal of plant litter is important. Assisting with resident gardens, planting out, and keeping potted and indoor plants healthy is also required.
